Plano Boasts New Legacy West Development Turkish-born Fehmi Karahan is the developer of Legacy West, a $2 billion+ project on 240 acres in Plano, anchored by Toyota North America and FedEx Office headquarters, a Liberty Mutual center and the Legacy mixed-use development to the east. Legacy West offers more than 1,200 apartments, two high-rise living towers, a 24-story condo tower with 94 residences and 127 urban villas, a 303-room Renaissance Legacy Hotel and over 325,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space. Legacy West also boasts a vibrant streetscape with landscaped plazas and canopied patio areas, plus a vast food hall. In short, the development is at the center of tremendous growth and revitalization underway in Plano. The public centerpiece for the new mixed-use Legacy West development is an Outside the Lines (OTL) design/build fountain with three separate basins, 131 nozzles to choreograph water shows, synchronized to 14 songs and 398 LEDs. The fountain is in a central plaza along a main street thoroughfare, directly adjacent to luxury apartments, restaurants and retailers in a high traffic, open-air setting. It's no secret that shopping venues that integrate art and entertainment experiences for shoppers see a considerable increase in the average time people stay on site, and an increase in sales.
