Hobitt Homes Some 15 years ago, Simon Dale ( www. simondale.net ) built a 'Hobbit' home in Wales with his father-in-law in three months. It cost $4,650. It's made of oak and stone, has mud retaining walls and is insulated with straw bales. He's since left it to "woodland workers" and built another natural home (the Undercroft) in west Wales. He notes: "Their simplicity and cost makes them accessible; their beauty and use of natural materials remind us of our ancestral right and ability to live well as part of the landscape, nature, earth." november 2017 83 site amenities I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 1 8 2 I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 2 2 7 I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 1 2 1 I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 1 9 5 I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 2 2 5
