August 2018 63 Left: Suspended lights form a ceiling over this section of Chestnut Way in Quincy, Mass., allowing the space to serve multiple functions during the evening hours. The 24,000-square-foot streetscape was completed in 2016 and was designed by landscape architectural firm Landworks Studio, Inc., a 22-year-old firm headquartered in Boston. Right: This is a pocket park, or parkette, located in the center of the city block. The tree canopy and wood screen wall, which is comprised of Parker composite panels of reclaimed wood (Wonderwall Studios), helps add privacy, defines the area as a small park and adds texture to the courtyard. Several benches were added to this part of the streetscape to offer respite to pedestrians under the shady trees.
