Located just beyond Baltimore's famous Inner Harbor, Harbor East is one of Baltimore's fastest-growing communities comprised of waterfront residential and office buildings, luxurious new hotels, and upscale shopping and dining. Sited along President Street and circling the National Katyn Memorial, three blocks were flagged for a streetscape redevelopment by the city who retained Floura Teeter to perform landscape design for three separate contracts associated with the project. The design includes a mix of new brick sidewalks, lighting, detailed brick paving at the building entries, new street trees, tree grates, and ADA-accessible ramps. The landscape architects worked with the engineers and contractors to determine tree and lighting locations based on existing and proposed utility locations. Founded in 2000 by Joan Floura and Aaron Teeter who still serve as principals today, this firm is a WBE-certified landscape architecture firm applying extensive experience and creativity to a variety of public and private projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. With offices in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore, Floura Teeter has worked for clients such as governmental entities, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and community-based organizations.
