Delaware Christiana Care Health System, Wilmington, Del. RAS has worked extensively with the Christiana Care Health System in the design and construction of several important projects on their campuses. One of the most recent projects is the Healing Garden Courtyard at the Wilmington campus. The rich, heavily planted garden provides a refuge for staff and patients near the Emergency Room, one of the most active areas in the hospital. Patients at the hospital's Center for Rehabilitation use the garden to help regain skills lost to brain injury. The garden has different types of surfaces, along with steps and ramps that provide an environment in which therapists can work with patients who are learning to walk with assistive devices or regaining their mobility when recovering from surgery or an injury. Robinson Anderson Summers, Inc. (RAS) is a landscape architectural design firm based in Wilmington, Delaware. RAS enjoys national recognition for its work in public and private gardens, and historic landscapes. The firm's body of work is sensitive to landscape history and traditions, combined with the highest levels of creativity, horticultural richness and expertise, and environmental stewardship. Principals Geoff Anderson and Allan Summers have worked closely with Rodney Robinson for over twenty-five years, supported by three design professionals and administrative staff. The small size of the firm enables the principals to maintain meaningful involvement in every project.
