The project minimized public circulation space to allow for large animal areas, showcasing multiple species together on the savanna. A dynamic edge is created between the public and animal spaces where guests can enjoy an evening event overlooking the savanna, feed a herd of giraffes, and play on a Land Rover with lions. CLR Design (CLR) is an architectural and landscape architectural firm focused on designing zoological and botanical spaces around the world that inspire, educate, preserve and protect. Founded in 1984, CLR has 3 principals and 32 employees. The firm's core purpose is to create impactful connections. Their clients have included approximately 1/3 of all the major zoos in the United States, as well as many notable international projects, and we have won more Exhibit Design awards from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) than any other single firm. Services include master planning, feasibility planning, research & exhibit development, design & construction document preparation and construction administration.
