October 2018 81 Olympus America, Inc. Center Valley, Pa. Assisting the architect with the master plan and site planning for the new North American headquarters of Olympus Imaging Corporation, CVDA was involved in the design of the project from the beginning and helped to develop the garden themes that reflected the company's Japanese origins while expressing a modern technological theme. Three separate entrances were incorporated: the formal entrance with art forms that feature the transformation of glass in technology, the garden entrance to the park and gardens, and the separate service entrance that buffers the site from the adjacent interstate highway. Sixteen-acre Estate Upper Makefield, Pa. The master plan and construction documents CDVA developed included a period rose garden, grotto, swimming pool, upper and lower terraces, water rill with greenhouse, azalea garden, crab apple allee, and two separate kitchen vegetable gardens. One of the distinguishing features was the construction of all of the walls, grotto, and water features in a gray colored concrete that was then sand blasted to create an antique limestone appearance.
