Wayfinding (Continued from page 84) Tall kiosks with historic looking fluted support poles and arched five-seam aluminum roofs to protect visitors from the rain were located in more open areas like on the Naperville Riverwalk, which runs along the West Branch of the DuPage River. The "i" symbol on the side of the headers indicate this is an information kiosk with a list of businesses and a map. Where space was limited, shorter kiosk versions were used. In addition, a smaller version of the map and directory were placed more directly to a decorative stone base. The scope of the work included producing a map of the downtown area to identify the various types of businesses and key them to their block locations. These are the typical "You Are Here" type of maps. SAA Design Group worked closely with the sign fabricator to review and approve shop drawings, color and material samples and installations. Specified materials for the information kiosks include 6061 aluminum tube and plate construction finished in high-grade exterior grade paint in a bronze color, fluorescent lamps for internal lighting of the map cases, LEDs on the information headers and universal information "i" symbols. The kiosks incorporate historic looking fluted support poles with extended, rounded tops to 86 Landscape Architect and Specifier News protect users in inclement weather.
