Deicke Park Discovery Zone Stephan Kelly, editor The fabulous Deicke Park Discovery Zone is in Huntley, Ill., a village about 50 miles northwest of Chicago. This panorama does not reveal the full playground, but we see the village (front right), the music area (center), the school play area (top), Bankshot play (top left), and the train/fire truck area (left). There are hundreds of feet of block seat walls that also act as planters and supports for the murals and blackboard. Concrete walks circle the playground's inner core to facilitate wheel chair travel, with four-way stop signs at intersections. Picnic tables (Wabash Valley) with shades are among the adult amenities. 48 Landscape Architect and Specifier News
